Sexual abuse against children is a type of violence and unfortunately, although it is quite common, it is a big problem that does not come to light and is therefore not reflected in the courthouse and therefore is not included in the statistics. It is an issue that has both national and international dimensions. Legal regulations are made against acts that the child usually sees from close quarters and therefore knows the perpetrator of, but this is not enough. The issue is kept on the agenda with international agreements and obligations are imposed on the party states to prevent it. Although there are regulations on the subject in the Turkish Penal Code, it is not possible to say that they are sufficient to solve the problem., Child sexual abuse is a type of violation and despite the fact that it is a common issue, it doesn't come into the picture much and therefore, it is not referred to court and reflected by the statistics. It is also an international problem as well as a national issue. Children usually see the offender and know he/she who commits the action and regulations made for this crime is not adequate yet. International conventions keep this issue on the agenda and some obligations are imposed to States to prevent it. Even tough there are provisions on this topic in Turkish Criminal Code, these are not effective for solving the problem.
