Sample Text In this study, the relationship between the crime of fabricating a crime, which is frequently encountered in practice, and the right to defense will be examined. According to the Turkish Penal Code, a person who reports a crime that he knows has not been committed to the competent authorities as if it had been committed, or who fabricates evidence or signs of a crime that has not been committed in a way that will enable an investigation, is punished. The crime of fabricating a crime can especially be confused with the crime of slander. In our study, some examples of the crime of fabrication, which are the subject of the Supreme Court decisions, will be examined. This study will examine the relationship between the offense of inventing a crime which is mostly encountered in practice and the right of defense. According to Turkish Criminal Law, a person who reports a crime to the authorities that he/she knows has not been committed or invents the evidence or signs of a crime which has not been committed in a way to lead to an investigation is punished. The offense of inventing a crime can be confused especially with the offense of defamation. In our study, some of the examples that are mentioned in the Supreme Court precedents regarding the offense of inventing a crime.
