According to the Turkish Civil Code No. 4721, lineage can be established naturally, based on blood ties, or artificially, through adoption. Establishing family ties with the child's parents is subject to different provisions. However, there is no regulation in our law regarding assisted reproductive techniques, which are very common today. Determining the paternity of a child born using these reproductive techniques also varies depending on the reproductive techniques used. This article is about establishing paternity according to the regulations in the law and determining the paternity of the child born as a result of assisted reproductive techniques., According to Turkish Civil Code No: 4721, filiation can be established both in a natural way, based on blood tie and in an artificial way occurred by adoption. The establishment of filiation of child's mother and father are subject to different provisions. However, there are no regulations related to assisted reproductive techniques which are very common today in our legal system. The determination of the child's filiation, born with this assisted new reproductive techniques vary according to the reproductive technology used. This article is about the establishment of the filiation according to regulations in law and determines the filiation of the child born as a result of assisted reproductive techniques.
