Self-determination is a fundamental right for the patient. The patient must be informed in a timely and adequate manner for the legal validity of his/her consent. Consent given for an intervention has an effect only in terms of it, but not in terms of subsequent interventions. If it is not possible to obtain consent in very urgent cases, the usual treatment method should be chosen, and the riskiest ones should not be preferred. The burden of proving that clarification has been made is on the doctor. Self-determination is a fundamental right for the patient. In order that the patient's consent can be accepted and legally valid, the patient should be informed in time and furnished with necessary details. A consent given for one intervention can be effective only for it, it will not be any effect for further interventions. In emergency situations, if there is no possibility to obtain the patient's consent, the common treatment methods should be chosen, the riskier methods should not be preferred. The burden of proof is on the physician that informing liability is fulfilled.
