| Notes | In general, they define the position of Turkish among the world languages as follows: Turkish belongs to the Altai branch of the Ural-Altaic language family. Turkish, Mongolian, Manchu-Tunguz languages constitute the Altai languages. The belonging of Japanese to this group has not yet been proven. Turkish, taken in a broad sense, is divided into three: Original Turkish with its many dialects and accents, Chuvash and Yakut. |
