White pendant with two rows of inscriptions in Arabic filled with gold.

Fragment. Papyrus much damaged on upper side. The right margin and lower part of the left margin are preserved. Verso: fragments of 10 lines on an unclassified document (see no. 169). Amulet of translucent yellowish-white stone. Incised with three lines of Arabic inscription filled in with gold pigment.

Part of Arabic document. Some scribbling on both sides. Used evidently for practice of ligatures.

Arabic. Scrap with some careless scribbling on both sides.

Fragment of an Arabic list of names. The names Aflah ibn 'Abd al-Malik, Harur ibn Humaid, 'Amr ibn 'A[b]d al-Sirur, Sha mil, could be read. Part of della Vida's work on Arabic papyri. Fragment of list of tax-payers. 2nd - 3rd century A.H. / 8th-9th century A.D.

Arabic document. Marked "Faijum b." by W. M. Muller (?). Eight documents contained in this papyrus all originating with the brothers Mina and Kayl sons of Shenude the Secretary, two Coptic landowners of the Fayyum. Recto: (4 documents) acknowledgements by different Coptic farm hands as to their obligation to cut the crop on the owner's land. Verso: (4 documents) refer to debts in wheat. Date: Jumada II - Sha-ban, 268 A.H. / Dec. 27, 881 to March 24, 882 A.D.

Metal Jeweler's loop with 7 amulets attached: Four chain links, with bead and metal hand attached. Numbered 101.S on hand. 2 yellow metal Fatima hands with Arabic, star and crescent. 3 metal fish 1 light yellow glass / horn amulet. "Talisman from a Woman’s head"

Dagger. Straight single-edged steel blade. Thick back. Tapering to point. Gilded. Arabic inscription on back at tang which is inserted in two-piece speckled ivory grip. Joining covered with strip of damascened brass in geometrical design.

Light green faience shabti belonging to the Mayor, Pennut. The shabti has a tripartite wig, and modeled ears. The surface is somewhat abraded. Hands are modeled, and hold painted adzes. A text column runs down the front of the shabti's legs, and reads "The Osiris, Mayor, Pennut." There is a rectangular painted basket on the shabti's back, with internal vertical lines.

Rolled lead tablet inscribed with Arabic inscription. Possibly a magical amulet.

White faience shabti with an anonymous inscription. Shabti wears a tripartite wig, with no indication of modeled ears. Four painted lines at the throat represent a wesekh collar. Hands are modeled, and hold painted adzes. A column of text runs down the front of the shabti's legs, reading "The illuminated one, the Osiris." The lower portion of the text was left blank. On the back is a painted triangular basket with no internal decoration.

White amulet with two rows of inscription.

Amulet of grey translucent stone. Incised two lines of Arabic inscription. Traces of gold pigment. Hole.

Hebrew-Arabic: letter. Writer came to Cyprus but was afraid to land out of fear for the king. He was reassured by a man who brought him a safe-conduct letter. Mentions Rabbi Isaacs. Rabbi Abraham, also 'Abd el-Kafi and 'Abd el-Rahman.

Tin or alloy medallion. Circular. Arabic writing on both front and back.

Arabic document (marriage contract?) on vellum, badly damaged. Hussain ibn Muhammed, the woman's uncle, and Ahmad ibn Hasan (the groom?), are mentioned in connection with the dowry (mahr) he is to pay immediately. Ten dinars are also mentioned. No diacritical points. (S.L. Skoss)

Translucent greyish-white stone amulet. One side with two lines of Arabic inscriptions. Incised with black pigment.

Manuscript of Koran. Written in Arabic, Naskhi script. 23 Folios. 4-11 lines to a page, richly decorated. Five unwars. Some titles are in gold. Cream colored heavy paper. Old oriental binding, dark brown leather, embossed gold. Contents: Chapters 78-114. Dates and names: f.2a- the mosques of Baghdad are mentioned. f. 21b- written by Ahmed ben (son of) Ali Isphahani (from Ispahan). pg. 22a- finished in the madrassa(theological seminary) of our lord, the Sultan and King, Zahir Abu Said in 10 Dhul

Part of Arabic letter with mud seal.

One of a pair of colossal vases or incense burners. Pierced brass. In shape of round drums on stem pedestals with tall necks rising from the top. Inscriptions, figures, and animals decorate the surface of the piece.

Painted ceramic shabti. The shabti wears a tripartite wig, with no indication of molded ears. There are no molded hands, and a faint indication of an adze on the right shoulder. A line of text originally existed on the front, but it is virtually illegible due to surface wear. There are faint indications of a painted rectangular basket on the shabti's back.

Brass pendant with writing.

Light green faience shabti belonging to the Mayor, Pennut. The shabti has a tripartite wig, with indistinct molded ears. The entire surface is somewhat abraded, and the feet of the figure are blackened. Hands are modeled, and hold painted adzes. A text column runs down the front of the shabti's legs, and reads "The Osirs, Mayor, Pennut." There is a rectangular painted basket on the shabti's back, with internal slanted lines.

White faience shabti belonging to the Mayor, Pennut. The shabti has a tripartite wig, ears are visible, and five lines indicate a wesekh collar. Hands are modeled, and hold adzes. A text column runs down the front of the shabti's legs, and reads "The illuminated one, the Osiris, Mayor, Pennut." There is a rectangular basket on the shabti's back, decorated with vertical lines.

Black tuff rock slab in ten pieces with Islamic inscription dedicated to Sultan Rukun-ud-din Barbak Shah who ruled Bengal from 1459-1474 CE. The inscription commemorates the building of a reservoir and inner gate on the grounds of the palace of Gaur (Lakhnauti), then capital of Bengal. It is dated to 871 AH (1466-7 CE).

Blue faience shabti belonging to the Wab priest Horemheb. Cf. CG2015-4-748.

Lower portion of a statue of a kneeling man, with arms crossed over his chest. Head and upper portion of statue is missing. Texts exist on the front below his arms, on the top of the base, around the edges of the base, and down the back pillar. The texts name the owner as the High Priest of Amun, Roma-Roy.

Talismanic bath-bowl. Copper alloy, possibly brass. Engraved with Arabic. Hole bored in side Divination?

Pear shaped pendant with diagram and writing. Bright brass

Four pages. Arabic/Hebrew letters: fragment of a theological treatise.

Thin brass wire coiled twice and joined at end to form bracelet. 4 amber colored glass charms attached by double loops of brass. Charms are flat and teardrop-shaped and are made of two layers of thick mirror glass with holes near tops. Serve to attach them to the brass loops.

White stone with two rows of Arabic inscription on one face with green/gray inlay. Smooth back. Inscription reads: La ilaha illa-allahu, Muhammadu rasulu-l-lahi. "There is no God but Allah and Mahomet is his prophet."

CBS Register: chalcedony brooch oval mounted on silver. 2 clasps. Arabic inscript. central.

Green stamp. Arabic script scratched in flat round face of stamp. There are three lines of writing in total. Stamp has squat, conical shape, widest at the face of the stamp and narrowing at top.

Arabic document. Badly damaged; writing obliterated and hardly readable. Some magical signs are discernible indicating the fragment most likely was an amulet.

Dagger (Pesh Kabz). "knife with a back". Straight single-edged steel blade with both edges recurved to sharp point. Both faces depressed and with sharp medial ridge. End of blade near very wide tang and binding around tang are covered with leaf decoration in fold. On wide back of blade are three medallions with Arabic inscriptions in gold. Two-piece ivory grip. Made by Ali Akhbar Khorasare [spelling?], armor maker who is Persian.

Bronze mortar with 18 lines of Cufic (?) Arabic inscription chiselled all round, and on the foot a short inscription. Inscription is worn on one side. Inscription in Arabic includes Sura 112, al-lkhlas (Sincere Religion) and Sura 99, al-Zalzalah (The Earthquake).
