Alma Mater Studiorum - AMS Historica (historica.unibo.it), managed by AlmaDL, the digital library of the University of Bologna, is a comprehensive digital archive established to preserve and make open access the rich historical and cultural heritage of the university. Library; It houses rare books, manuscripts, papyri, historical maps, drawings, photographs and archaeological finds from the university's own libraries, museums and archives, as well as high-resolution digital materials from various research projects such as Byzantine art and ancient epigraphy. Using modern open source technologies such as the DSpace-GLAM platform and the IIIF protocol, this database digitizes priceless historical documents, not only ensuring their physical preservation; It also builds a powerful bridge between the cultural heritage of the past and modern academic research by making these unique collections accessible to researchers, academics and history enthusiasts around the world.
