University of La Laguna Library

La Laguna University Library (Biblioteca de la Universidad de La Laguna) is located on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands of Spain and is one of the most established and rich academic library systems in the archipelago. This network of 14 service points spread across the Guajara, Anchieta and Central campuses forms the backbone of the university's research and education activities. Besides its modern collections, the library is particularly known for its "Historical Fund" (Fondo Antiguo), which is considered one of the most important bibliographic heritage of the Canary Islands; This invaluable collection contains manuscripts, incunabula (books printed before 1501) and thousands of rare artifacts dating from the 16th to the 18th centuries. Combining its traditional heritage with modern technologies, the institution also manages the institutional archive **"RIULL"** (Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de La Laguna), which preserves and opens the university's scientific production, theses and digitalized cultural heritage to the world.
