Salamanca University Library Service, in order to contribute to the University achieving its goals; It is the unit responsible for protecting and managing the bibliographic heritage, facilitating access to and dissemination of information resources, and cooperating in the processes of creating and disseminating information (Library Services Regulation, Article 1, 2020). University of Salamanca provides this service; sees it as a key actor to increase the visibility and impact of the institution, increase its presence in society and strengthen its role as a transmitter of knowledge. Playing a fundamental and active role in supporting teaching, study and research activities, the service also contributes to the revitalization of university life by acting flexibly and dynamically to adapt to the new demands brought by digital transformation and open science in the fields of research, academia and culture. Today, this Service is regulated in accordance with Article 30 of the Statutes of the University of Salamanca, approved by Decision 19/2003 of the Board of Castile and León, dated 30 January, and amended by Decision 38/2011, dated 5 May, and is administratively subordinate to the Vice-Rectorate for Research of the University of Salamanca.
