Florida State University (FSU) Libraries is a comprehensive library system that is central to the intellectual life of the university and supports teaching, research and learning. The system's flagship is the Robert Manning Strozier Library, which houses humanities and social science collections and is the campus' busiest study area. The system also includes the Paul A. M. Dirac Science Library, which focuses on scientific research, the Claude Pepper Library, which houses political archives, and other discipline-specific libraries such as Law, Medicine, Engineering, and Music. FSU Libraries provide access to more than 4 million volumes and extensive digital databases in total; It is also known for its Special Collections and Archives department, which contains rich materials on rare books, manuscripts, Florida history and the Napoleonic period.
