Columbia University Libraries
Columbia University Libraries (CUL) is the academic library system of Columbia University in New York City and is considered one of the largest and most important research library systems in the United States. The centerpiece of this network of more than 20 individual libraries is the iconic Butler Library on the university's main campus. The system includes several specialized libraries, including the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library, which has one of the world's leading collections of architecture, and the Rare Book & Manuscript Library (RBML), which houses invaluable historical texts. Home to more than 13 million volumes, millions of manuscripts, archival materials and comprehensive digital resources, the Libraries serve as a pillar supporting the university's intensive research and "Core Curriculum" in the Humanities.
