Women's Works Library and Information Center Foundation
Women's Works Library and Information Center Foundation was established in Istanbul in 1990 as Türkiye's first and only women-centered archive and library. Its main purpose is to collect, preserve and make available to researchers all kinds of materials on this subject in order to make visible the history, works and struggles of women in Türkiye from the Ottoman Empire to the present day. The foundation, which operates in a historical building in Haliç, Fener/Balat, has the status of a reference library (works are not loaned). Library; It serves as a vital memory institution for women's history research by housing 16 different special collections such as the Special Archives, which contain the personal documents of pioneering women such as Muazzez İlmiye Çığ and Şirin Tekeli, historical Women's Organizations records, Women Writers and Women Artists collections and rare Periodicals.
