CRL Center of Research Libraries
CRL (Center for Research Libraries) is an international consortium (association) of North American universities, colleges and independent research libraries, headquartered in Chicago. Its primary mission is to collect, preserve, and make available to member libraries materials that are critical to research in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences but are often "rare" or "uncommon." This huge shared collection; Contains foreign newspapers, magazines, doctoral dissertations, archives, government publications, and other primary source materials that are often not available elsewhere. By maintaining these resources in a central location, CRL reduces the burden on individual libraries to acquire and preserve these materials and ensures that this information is accessible to future generations of researchers.
