Al-Biruni Institute
Al-Biruni Institute, which focuses on scientific and cultural studies of Central Asian origin, was named after the famous Muslim scholar Al-Biruni. The institute is especially known for its manuscripts belonging to Islamic civilization, Ottoman history and the Arab-Persian world. There are many manuscripts in its collection on the subjects of history of science, astronomy, geography, philosophy and literature. Most of these resources are in Ottoman, Arabic and Persian, and researchers are provided with both physical and digital access. The Institute has a respected position in international academic circles with its work on the preservation of Islamic cultural heritage.
