Layout: Written in 19 lines per page (beginning around p.118, some lines entered on the diagonal) ; frame-ruled. Decoration: Keywords and abbreviation symbols rubricated ; overlining in red. Support: European laid paper in a few types ; one type with 8 laid lines per cm. (vertical) and chain lines spaced 26 mm. apart (horizontal) ; another type with 12-13 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 25 mm. apart (horizontal), and watermark of grapes with small crown above ; another type much lighter in color, with 12 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 17-19 mm. apart (horizontal), watermark of scrollwork with 'C S' ; another type with 10 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 30 mm. apart (horizontal), and three hats (top hats) watermark. Binding: Pasteboards covered in brown leather ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in olive-tinted European laid paper ; upper and lower covers bear blind-stamped scalloped mandorla (with vegetal composition, compare Déroche class. NSd 7) along with tooled border in a series of s-shaped stamps ; sewn in dark blue thread, two stations with primaries, occasionally primaries only ; overall in fair condition with some abrasion, lifting and losses of leather, delamination of boards, minor spine slant (slightly cocked), detached at spine (effectively hollowback), etc. repairs in brown leather. Incipit: "الحمد لله الذي ادبنا باداب المناظرين وفتح علينا ابواب البحث المفاكرة ... وبعد فيقول الفقير السيد الكفوى ان العلوم على شعب فنونها وتكثر شحونها ارفع المطالب وانفع المآدب ... ففحصت الكتب المصنفة العضدية وشرحها الفائق على الشروح الدائق وحاشية المشتملة على التحقيقات وهو حسبي ونعم الوكيل قوله الملائم للمسبوق ان الضمير راجع الى الشرح المذكور ..." Explicit: "وبالجملة لا محذور في بقاء الاعم والاخص على ما هو المشهور في تفسيرها" Script: Nastaʻlīq (talik) ; possibly two hands ; main hand with slight of effect of tilt to the right and words descending to baseline, virtually serifless, mainly closed counters, freely ligatured (point of final nūn very often assimilated with bowl, etc.), alif maqṣūrah mardūdah, and nūn of عن، من، etc. often reversed (re-curved).
