Notes The MS Lisan al-Arab... (41b) Al-Mas, may God have mercy on him, said after he left the era of naming. He said, “If you say why did the author leave the praise?” Copyist note: (93a) The book was completed, with the help of God, King Al-Wahhab, at the hands of the weakest of the kind and the most despicable among the writers, the contemptible and poor Omar bin Darwish Muhammad, may God forgive him and his parents [...] at the end of the month of Sha’ban, on a blessed day, Friday at the time of dawn [...] in the year 1109, Ends with: (93a) The author did well in linking the conclusion with the Fatiha, as he attached to the Fatiha the circumspectness that is correct, and in the conclusion, it is sufficient to meditate. This is the last thing that His intention has been made easy for us, praise be to God and from Him. The second part of a collected volume, Marginal notes in Arabic in black ink, On fol. 94v a Persian couplet by Asīrī Lāhijī (d. 911/1506), an unidentifiable Ottoman Turkish couplet, and a Persian-Turkish mülemma, possibly by ʿAbd al-Maǧīd ibn Muḥarram ibn Muḥammad al-Zīlī (d. 1049/1639), known as Sīwāsī Efendi who wrote his poems under the pseudonym of Şeyḫī, On fols. 93v-94r an excerpt in Ottoman Turkish from Mavzūn al-ʿavāmil by Mavlānā Yaḥya Efendi, dated 1109/1697, together with a couplet of Ḥāfiẓ
