Notes Anonymous donator, Begins with: (1b) In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in Him is the answer. Sheikh Imam Allama Shams al-Din Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Qasim al-Shafi’i said, May God cover him with His mercy and contentment, Amen. Praise be to God. We are blessed with the opening of the Book because it began with every minded person [...] After this, this is a very brief and concise book. (2a) I placed it in the book called approximation so that the needy among the initiates may benefit from it. For the branches of Sharia and religion, and to be a means of salvation on the Day of Judgment and of benefit to the servants of the Muslims [...] I called it by two names, one of which is Fath al-Qarib al-Mujib in explaining the words of approximation and the second is al-Qaw al-Mukhtar in explaining Ghayat al-Qutharah, Copyist note: (136b) and this is the last explanation of the book Ghayat al-Akhtharah, without redundancy (137a). And Allah suffices us, and He is the best disposer of affairs. There is no power or strength except in Allah, the Most High, the Great, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions. This was the end of the book of this book. The copy was made on the blessed third day of the twenty-sixth of the month of Shawwal, which is in the year 1282, at the hands of its poor writer, Ali al-Qushayshi. May God forgive him, Amen.
