The manuscript was in the ownership of Sayyid Yūsuf ibn Faḍlallāh, the Imām of Muḥammad Ḫān Sulṭān Mosque in 1140/1727, and Muṣṭafā ibn ʿAbdī at the zāwiya of the Amīr of Buḫārā (1300/1883; notice on the last flyleaf). On the inside of the back cover, an undated note from Bilāl Efendi, a teacher at the Šayḫzāda Madrasa, Begins with: (4b) In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in Him we seek help. Praise be to God, who has favored the tongue of the Arabs over all tongues, just as He favored the Book revealed with it over all other books, and prayers and peace be upon the Arab Prophet and upon his family, the most honorable of the Arabs after the Prophet, and it is in five sections. The first section In nouns, the second section is in verbs, the third section is in letters, the fourth section is in the morphology of nouns, the fifth section is in the morphology of verbs, the first section is the noun section, Ends with: (212a) He started doing such and such, he stafaq, and he stafaqa, he stopped doing such and such, not Zayd is going, bring that, Note from the copyist: (212a) The writing of verbs was completed, thanks to God and from him, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, the best of his creation, and upon his family and companions, and peace be upon him.
