Now that the type of literature is as many as its afflictions...", Explicit: "This is the subject of redundancy, but it decrees to the king, so I limited it to this amount, so the opinion about contention [?] has not been made clear, and God knows best what is right", Colophon: "Scribal," rectangular, reads: “This book was completed, by the grace of God, on the seventeenth day in the blessed month of Rabi’ al-Akhir, the date of the year [1125?]. It was written by the hand of Abdul-Da’eef, in need of the mercy of God Almighty, Ismail bin Hassan bin Mustafa, may God have mercy on his [sic] grandfathers, his parents, his teacher, his associates, and all the believing men and women, and with God, success, and He is the best companion, it was completed.”, Collation: 16 V (160), i ; exclusively quinions ; catchwords present; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes back flyleaf and inserts; skips two pages between pp.3-4 and pp.23-24 and omits p.58)., Layout: Written in 15 lines per page ; frame-ruled., Script: Naskh-nastaʻlīq and naskh ; at least two hands ; elegant nastaʻlīq, virtually serifless, with mainly closed counters, effect of tilt to the right and of words descending to baseline, and elongation of horizontal strokes; at p.98 hand changes to naskh, also serifless, neat and compact, fairly rounded, with mainly closed counters and slight effect of tilt to the left; bowl of final nūn often forms a closed circle around the point., Decoration: Headings, keywords, abbreviation symbols and some marginalia rubricated ; textual dividers in the form of three inverted commas; written area surrounded by red rule-border (through p.217)., Support: European laid paper with 13 laid lines per cm. Kitab al-dau, with glosses." ; circular seal impression with figure of goat/gazelle in purple ink as well as inscription "198" in Western numerals on front flyleaf (p.1); on paper (blue-tinted) pasted on 'title page' (p.3), a detailed waqf statement in the name of al-Sayyid ʻAbd Allāh Adīb (Abdullah Edip), known as Jannatʹzādah (Cennet-zade), qāḍī of Erzurum, accompanied by his seal, reads: “I stood in a correct and legitimate manner, provided that it does not come out of the house of attached books In my house, except for scholars who live in Erzurum with a strong pasture guarantor, and I am the poor one. May glory be to him, Mr. Abdullah Adeeb, known as Jant Zadeh, the judge in the city of Erzurum in the year two hundred and thousand and sixty-two of Erzurum.” Also on 'title page' (p.3) an ownership statement in the name of the copyist, Ismāʻīl ibn Ḥasan al-Awlawī, reads: “Whoever the poor man writes to God Almighty, Ismail bin Hassan al-Awlawi, will be forgiven by God the Rich and all the believing men and women, the Muslim men and women”; extensive marginal glosses and corrections through p.183., Shelfmark: Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Special Collections Research Center, Isl.
