Notes Ms. fragment., Title supplied by cataloguer., Collation: Single leaf., Layout: Written in 12 lines per page ; frame-ruled., Script: Muḥaqqaq ; carefully executed and fully vowelled., Decoration: Instances of the divine Names (here الله , غفور , رحيم) chrysographed ; marginal annotations rubricated ; written area surrounded by a gold frame defined by black fillets ; illuminated textual dividers in the form of gold rosettes with red accents mark the ends of verses ; marginal illumination in the form of a roundel carrying the word ثمن (thumn) in gold on a blue ground with red, gold and blue accents, marks the close of one eighth (thumn) of a ḥizb or sixtieth of the text (here the 6th thumn of the 26th ḥizb)., Support: non-European (likely Egyptian) laid paper with roughly 8 laid lines per cm. (vertical) and chain lines seemingly grouped in threes (or twos and threes) with roughly 12-15 mm. between the chains and 35 mm. between the groups (horizontal)., Former shelfmark: "138" inscribed in pencil on recto ; "75001" inscribed in pencil on verso., Origin: Undated though hand, decoration, paper, etc. suggest 15th century Egyptian production., Rubricated marginal annotations contrast the reading of Abū ʻAmr b. al-ʻAlāʼ (d.154/771) as transmitted by Abū ʻUmar Ḥafṣ b. ʻUmar al-Dūrī (ca. 246/860-1) with that of Nāfiʻ b. ʻAbd al-Raḥman (d. ca. 169/785-6) as transmitted by Abū Mūsā ʻĪsā b.
