Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî (1541-1600) is one of the most important writers of the Ottoman period, better known as a historian. His work, Hilyetü'r-Ricâl, is a work that blends Sufism, literature, history and occult sciences. He dealt with the characters of an isolated world called "Ricâl-i Gayb" with the logic of a historian, but remaining faithful to the mystical dimension of the subject.
