Notes
Among the scientific studies inherited from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey, those related to agriculture geography have a distinctive significance. The economy is the continuation of the Ottoman State, which is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and the Republic of Turkey has maintained this economic system. On the way to the Industrial Revolution, the European states, which initially developed with innovations in the agricultural field, never overlooked agriculture in the development process. Agricultural production has become a basic raw material supply sector, supporting and supporting industrial production. As a matter of fact, agriculture and livestock economy constituted the foundation of industrialization foreseen for the development of young Republic of Turkey. In order to understand the economic structure of today's Turkey, it is necessary to follow the economic footsteps of the past. These traces lead us to the first works of the same time. This work, titled "Memalik-i Osmaniyye'nin Ziraat Coğrafyası" taken by the Ottoman officer Major Hüseyin Efendi, is in terms of geographical understanding of the agricultural activities in the Ottoman country. The purpose of this study is to translate, analyze and evaluate today's works which are important references in agricultural geography.
