Notes On p. 2 of cover: Ḥāshiyat al-Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Amīr ʻalá sharḥ kitāb al-Majmūʻ fī al-fiqh.Ms. in naskh script on glazed laid paper. 24 x 17.3 cm. No rubrication; catchwords. Text unvocalized. Considerable marginal and interlinear notation. Text incomplete, probably left unfinished by copyist.Paper is glazed, laid stock, probably of European origin. Some discoloration and tears to end leaves but otherwise in very good condition. Leaves bear several watermarks: double headed eagle with a shield on the chest; a scalloped shield bearing a crescent moon with the letters PC below; the letters A.G.; another shield bearing a crescent.Binding is red leather over pasteboard, wallet style. Spine, fore edge flap and envelope have blind stamped filleted borders. Covers have blind stamped mandorlas with flanking tulips. These have floral motif. Binding is housed in a red leather and pasteboard slipcase. Case edges are red leather; fore edge damaged near foot. Sides are paper covered and have geometric design in white and black on a violet background. - A commentary on the author's work of Maliki law known as al-Majmūʻ fī al-fiqh.
