At head of title: Qāfiyah.Includes a letter to the Armenian cleric Makardīj.Scribe identified in colophon as: Yuḥannā Jurjis al-Ḥalabī al-Suryānī.Ms. on glazed laid paper in naskh script. 22.4 x 15.5 cm. Chapter sub-headings; page headers and some catchwords in red ink. Some vocalization; some marginal notation. Stamp of ownership on title page.Paper is laid stock, probably of European origin. Some leaves bear a watermark showing a shield with a scalloped top and a five-pointed star at the center and topped by a crown. Some minor stains; otherwise, excellent condition.Binding is marbled paper over pasteboard with red leather spine. Pastedowns are of plain unglazed paper. - Text consists of rhymes based on the letters of the alphabet complaining about the leaders of the Catholic Church. Also includes a section of verses on certain religious duties. Composed between 1716 and 1745 (most between 1720 and 1730).
