Notes Ms. codex.Title supplied by cataloger.17 lines per page. Written in small nastaʻlīq in black ink with use of red for headings and to overline the commented text (gold on the first four pages). The text is framed within two red fillets and an outer border of one single red fillet (gold and black frame with red outer border on fol. 1b-3a). A few marginal notes by the same hand. Contains diagrams, some more recent added on leaves placed between the original folios (see betwen fol. 11 and 12). Between fol. 35 and 36, pieces of paper with a seal with the inscription "Bath" and a crown, with diagrams by a modern hand. European glazed paper with watermark.Two labels pasted on the upper cover with inscription in Arabic, respectively "Riyāḍiyāt 49" and "662". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "515 Alif" (or "1505").Copied by Ḥājj Muḥammad ibn Ḥājj ʻAlī (colophon, fol. 77b).Incipit: الحمد لله الذي جعل الشمس ضياءً والقمر نوراً وبسط على بساط البسيط ... وبعد فلا اقسم بمواقع النجوم ... [2ب] ... الحمد هو الثناء باللسان على الجميل لله علم للواجب الوجودExplicit: من دقايق الساعات على ما ذهب اليه التبانى كما لا يخفى على من له ادنى درية فى الحساب والله اسرع الحاسبين - Dark brown leather over pasteboards for upper cover, lower cover and envelope flap. The covers are similarly blind stamped with a central mandorla with two pendants on the vertical axis, and an outer frame consisting of fillets and small stamps with a floral motif. The envelope flap has a similar border with a smaller stamp on its pointe. - Elegant copy of a commentary on a work on astronomy by Maḥmūd ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻUmar al-Jighmīnī (d. after 1221) entitled al-Mulakhkhaṣ fī ʻilm al-hayʼah.
