Notes Swydan was a Syrian journalist who emigrated to the United States in 1909. He served as secretary of the Russian Imperial Orthodox Society and the United Syrian Christian Association of North America, and founded a business, S. Swydan and Sons, Russian traders, in Worchester, Mass.
