Inscription in Arabic script pasted on the front cover of the case: "ʻAqāʼid 22".Origin: Copy completed on Friday 10(?) Muḥarram 1112 [June 1700] by Ḥājj ʻAbd Allāh ʻĀshūr Ibn al-ḥājj ʻAbd al-Laṭīf al-Aʻzāzī al-Shāfiʻī al-ʻUdwālī (colophon, fol. 91b).Incipit: الحمد لله الذى جعل معرفته راس مال السعادة ومحبته موجبة ... اما بعد فلما كانت عقيدة الشيباني مسلسلة اللفظ كثيرة المعني ... [1ب] ... ولنفتحه بمقدمات تأسيا بالشارح فنقول اعلم ارشدنا الله واياك انه يجب على كل مكلف شرعا معرفى الله تعالىExplicit: غصن مفردا رافعا صوته بالتغريد وهو التطريب والتنغيم وهذا اخر النظم وزاد عليه شارحه ابن قاضي عجلون السلام والترضي بقوله كذلك سلام الله ثم رضاؤه علي الال والازواج والصحب سرمدا بلا نهاية ففيه فوايد جزيلة وفرايد جليلة نفعنا الله بها ... سبحان الله العزيم لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله وحسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل - Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. Deep blind-stamped panel on both covers, with central mandorla with pendants on the vertical axis and corner-pieces. Guilloche and fillets border. Portion of the same decoration on the envelope flap. Paper pastedowns. Slip-case in light brown leather and blue paper. - Commentary on the ʻAqīdah of Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Shaybānī (d. 189/804). The text is followed by a short text in Ottoman Turkish on God on fol. 92a and by a a short text attributed to Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal on four well known unbased ḥadīth.
