Notes Letter regarding the estrangement of Pelly and Ogilvie's friendship and Ogilvie's desire for reconciliation.The letter goes on to discuss Major Macleod Innes who is writing a work on the history of the mutiny and who wishes information on particular points which Ogilvie believes Pelly can assist with.The points he is asking for information on relate to:a note which John Jacobs wrote at the time of the mutiny relating to the appearance of 'a saviour' and asking Pelly for the British view on this at the time,an ecumenical council established to consult on the affairs of Islam,the tribute sent annually to Mecca by some Chiefs of India,the demeanour and attitude of the Persians, Afghans and Belooches [Baluchis] both during and after the mutiny and whether they at anytime viewed events as an Islamitic movement. | 6 folios | more | less
