Notes Samuel Hennell refers to his despatch of 3 September 1850, letter no. 340, which transmitted a copy of a letter from Hennell to the Prince of Shiraz [Firouz Mirza Nosrat-ed-Dowleh], regarding the concerns of a deputation of Bushire merchants. Hennell reports that he has received a reply from Shiraz, in which the Prince states that the despatch of Sheik Nasir to Tehran was done under the orders of the Shah's Government. Hennell states that the Prince has despatched Moostufa Kooly Khan with a body of troops to enquire into the actual position of affairs in Bushire and to verify the wishes of its merchants. Hennell concludes by stating that reports are rife of the march of Mirza Hassan Ally Khan and the troops under Houssein Khan of Dashty to Tungistoon [Tangestān]. | 2 folios | more | less
