Notes Colophon and beginning of Pirqe Avot (Mišna, Avot 1:1-2), with a Judaeo-Arabic heading. The colophon on recto is styled as a letter from the copyist, ʿUmayr b. Mūsā of the house of Ben al-Labbān, to Abū(?) Zakī (מר׳ ור׳ א׳ זכי החכם והנבון הירא שמים), who had requested that ʿUmayr b. Mūsā include in his reply a booklet in his own handwriting. The mishnaic text on verso is surrounded by jottings in Hebrew and Judaeo-Arabic, including multiple repetitions of the words לישועה. | Condition: Holes, slightly rubbed | Layout: 14 lines (recto); 15 lines (verso) | more | less
