Then he goes on to talk at length about the histories of the princes of Banu Bahtr, known as the princes of the West, who ruled over a large part of western Lebanon and ruled over Beirut and its environs for a long time. Father Sheikho found the manuscript in the National Library in Paris and copied it. He says about it: “The original copy is unique in its type, no parallel is known to it in any other library, and it includes 135 sheets of 12 pieces, each page has fifteen manuscript lines in fine naskhi script.
