Scanning from an original document. Scanning from an original document. The ms. contains eight paintings [cf. The arts of Iran, ancient Persia and Baghdad, Paris, 1938, no. 83, p. 166-167; E. Blochet, Revue des Bibliothèques, 1898, p. 80- 81], which are contemporary with the copy:1).- F. 12v (70 x 107 mm) “Mihr and Muštarī, arriving at the hermit's cave, kiss his foot, the other his hand”.2).- F. 44 (83 x 115) “Šāpūr listens to his nephew Bihzād intercede on behalf of the two condemned Muštarī and his servant Badr - while, behind them, the executioner waits."3).- F. 75v (86 x 97) "Muštarī, Badr and Mihrāb are on horseback and fight the sagsārān, dog-headed creatures who throw stones at them."4).- F. 107 (61 x 115) "King Kayvān participates in a festival which he gives in the honor of Mihr and hands him a cup”.5).- F. 108v (83 x 103) “In the presence of Kayvān, Mihr speaks with a group of scholars”.6).- F. 116 (62 x 109) “Mihr supports the head of Kayvān who had fainted at the edge of a stream; a young girl – perhaps Nāhīd – observes them”.7).- F. 125v (61 x 105) “The reunion of Mihr and Muštarī, who faint in the presence of Kayvān”.8).- F. 134 (61 x 122) “Mihr and Nāhīd unite during their wedding night” [the margin, to the left of the painting, is restored and perhaps part of the scene is missing].In f. 1v a multi-lobed stamp, with eight lobes, has been scratched.
