Date probably between the 38th and 43rd years of the Mughal Emperor ‘Ālamgīr's reign (late-1694–mid-1699 CE)
Notes A complete copy of Book Five of the Mas̲navī-i Ma‘navī (Spiritual Couplets) by Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (1207–1273), the fourth of a six-volume set together with Persian MS 250, 251, 252, 253, and 255. Since the set bears dedications to Prince Muḥammad Mu‘aẓẓam Bahādur Shāh, son of the Mughal Emperor ‘Ālamgīr I, who later succeeded his father as Shāh ‘Ālam Bahādur I (r. 1707–1712), he likely commissioned it. A scribe named Sirāj al-Dīn Kūrahvī mainly completed the set, including this volume, possibly in either Calcutta or Kabul in circa the 38th and 43rd years of the Mughal Emperor ‘Ālamgīr's reign (1695–mid-1699 CE), when he completed two others. Another man named ‘Abd al-Karīm ibn Muḥammad Ḥasan also completed at least one other volume in the set in Shahjahanabad (Old Delhi).
