Notes
Ahmad Mahmud Al-Sadati (1908-1992) was a prominent Egyptian historian, professor, and polyglot. He spent his early years in Austria, where he became fluent in German and married an Austrian woman. In this book, written a year after Hitler’s rise to power and drawing on literature such as "Mein Kampf", "Die Reden des Reichskanzlers" (Speeches of the Reich Chancellor), and "Germany Reborn" by Hermann Göring, Al-Sadati presents to the Arab world the back - ground of the new German government. The author discusses the Nazis’ attitudes towards Jews, specifically addressing "the solution of the Jewish question" in the National Socialist program, as well as the threat posed by Communism. By supporting the new German gov - ernment, Al-Sadati hopes to foster a strong alliance between the German and Arab worlds.
