Followed by a treatise on the difference between words used in Arabic as synonyms, entitled Furūq al-lughāt, by Nūr al-Dīn ibn Niʻmat Allāh al-Jazāʼirī, and by the Kasidah in praise of the Prophet Muḥammad, commonly called Bānat Suʻād, by Kaʻb ibn Zuhayr, with a commentary by Luṭf ʻAlī ibn Aḥmad al-Tabrīzī. Accompanied on the margin by a number of other pieces and extracts, namely : (1) Sirr al-adab, a treatise on Arabic lexicology, by al-Thaʻālibī ; (2) an anonymous supplement to the preceding; (3) an anonymous tract on words feminine by usage ; (4) a Kasidah by Ibn al-Ḥājib on the same subject ; (5) some extracts on the genders ; (6) a metrical list by Ibn Mālik of some weak verbs, which may be inflected with و or ى for third radical indifferently ; (7) an extract on the use of the particles of interrogation ; (8) an extract on some verb forms ; (9) some extracts from al-Maydānīʼs collection of proverbs ; (10) a Kasidah by Ḥassān ibn Thābit ; (11) two Kasidahs by the Caliph ʻAlī ; (12) a Kasidah by al-Mutanabbī ; (13) the Kasidah entitled al-Khamrīyah, by Ibn al-Fāriḍ ; (14) a Kasidah ascribed to Imruʼ al-Qays ; (15) the Kasidah entitled al-Maqṣūrah, by Ibn Durayd, with anonymous notes ; (16) a Kasidah by al-Farazdaq ; (17) the Kasidah in praise of the Prophet Muḥammad by Ismāʻīl al-Ḥimyarī, accompanied by an extract relating to it from Muḥammad Bāqir Majlisīʼs work entitled Biḥār al-anwār.].
