Notes The author divided his encyclopedia into seven main chapters, and in each of them there are a number of sub-sections, in addition to various sources, references, and indexes. The first chapter presented an introduction to the Islamic faith, and came in three sections, which dealt with the evidence to prove the Islamic faith, its importance and characteristics, the approach of the Holy Qur’an in presenting the Islamic faith, and the state of beliefs in the time of the Holy Prophet, Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. The second chapter dealt with a number of what the author called an “Islamic doctrine,” They are: the Kharijites, the Shiites, the Murji’ah, the Qadariyya, the Jabriyah, the Mu’tazilites, the Ash’aris, the Maturidiyya, and the Salafists. The third chapter, in two sections, dealt with the truth of faith and its importance in life, while the fourth chapter, in three sections, dealt with theology, and included issues that fall under the heading of the science of monotheism, such as the evidence for the existence of God Almighty, and His names and attributes. The fifth chapter, in which the author dealt with what he called “prophetic matters.” Three sections, in which he dealt with what he said was “man’s need for prophecy,” general prophecy, and the specific prophecy of the Noble Messenger, Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. As for the sixth chapter, the author dealt in it, in three sections, with the evidence of the existence of the Last Day, its position and perception in the faith of Muslims, and among non-Muslims, whether followers of revealed religions or man-made religions and pagans. Finally, in the seventh chapter, the author discussed in three sections, The issue of disbelief, atonement, and the punishment of apostasy. -- Bibliography: pages 729-811.
