Notes What distinguishes this book from other books that deal with Arab history in the Middle Ages is that it attempts to see this stage in general. Therefore, the author deliberately started from the history of the Arabs before Islam and ended with the Ottoman period, and the modernity that many Arab countries witnessed, which came in the wake of European penetration into their parts. This book not only monitors the major political transformations that spanned various eras, but rather it seeks to link them with civilizational aspects, including culture, urbanism, medicine, and others. After each of its seven chapters, the author sets out two texts that address problematic issues that spark discussion or provide additional insight into the historical material. With each chapter, there are also the names of the sources and references on which he relied, as an indication to those wishing to obtain more details about the subject. "Intersections of Middle Arab History: Paths of Wars and the Journey of Civilization" carries within its pages a different approach to the junctures through which the region crossed its conflict and civilization -- back cover. Includes bibliography
