Notes	The book “Kuwait: Rentier Policies and the Challenges of Reform” by Amer Dhiyab Al-Tamimi presents a review of the philosophy of government economic policies since the beginning of the oil era with a historical review of the development of economic policies since 1946, stressing the failure of the legislative authority and civil society in criticizing the philosophy of economic policies and confining themselves to discussing details without focusing on the main philosophy of those policies, which focused on providing a better standard of living for Kuwaitis directly through the distribution of land and housing and providing government jobs without directing oil surpluses to achieve real and comprehensive economic development that empowers society. It enables Kuwait to face future challenges and make it prepared for any economic changes at the global level of what is known as post-oil economies. -- Bibliography: p. 144-145.
