Notes	The book “The History of Sufism” is one of the most important books of the people. It was written by Abu Abdul Rahman before he wrote his book: “Classes of Sufism.” It has become the first reliable book, and the best source for everyone who wrote about history or classes, and it is often quoted by Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi in “The History of Baghdad,” Ibn Asakir in “The History of the City of Damascus,” Abd al-Karim al-Rafi’i in “Al-Taddun fi Akhbar Qazvin,” Al-Dhahabi in “The History of Islam,” and many others. The book - despite its importance and uniqueness - has been lost for centuries, and based on what my research has concluded, and I am reassured by it: the last person to directly quote from it was Imam Shams al-Din al-Sakhawi (died in the year 903 AH) in his book: “The Classes of the Honored Saints.” Which supports what I said; Mustafa bin Abdullah, the famous writer of Chalabi, Haji Khalifa, author of “Revealing Suspicions on the Names of Books and Arts,” who died in the year (1067 AH), did not mention him in his book. After this date, I did not find anyone who reported from him directly. Perhaps God will be gracious to this nation, and this book will come to light from the corner of a forgotten library, or from the hand of someone who is jealous of it, tempted by its miserliness and estrangement from benefiting a nation and helping an audience. It is the book “The History of Sufism,” in which its author collected Sufi stories and poetry. -- Bibliography: p. 427-428 and index
