Notes It is difficult for one to have a certain opinion regarding the Yazidi religion. Research into the Yazidi religion is recent, especially among its people and those who know its origins, rituals and traditions. Today we notice a good improvement in this regard, which could bring with it optimism for valuable and original studies in the future. Research into the Yazidi religion is supposed to be based on extensive knowledge of theories of the emergence of religions, the factors behind their emergence, trends in the development of ancient religions, interaction and mutual influences, in addition to a good knowledge of the history of the development of the Yazidi religion and realistic knowledge of the conditions of the Yazidis in their original homeland. The research is also supposed to rely on a number of basic sources, which are: * Scientific studies that attempted to delve into the origin of ancient religions and sought to provide realistic explanations whose analyzes and conclusions can be relied upon. * Archaeological discoveries in areas of Yazidi residence, ancient and modern. * More recent studies carried out and published by Yazidi associations, institutions, and researchers from the daughters and sons of Yazidis who are known for their scientific objectivity and their endeavor to provide audited facts about the Yazidi religion and about life and activity. The Yazidis, despite their small number and the modernity of their research. * Relying on what is recorded or written with them, despite the limited amount of writings available in this regard. * Relying on trusted Yazidi religious, social and scientific figures with extensive knowledge, who understand the essence of the Yazidi religion, are familiar with it, and seek to inform people of the truth of this religion. -- Bibliography: p. 417-433.
