Notes
The book deals with the collection “My Father and the Sheikh” as a model for the storyteller and critic Ziad Abu Laban. It is a critical and analytical study. The study is based on an introduction to the short story and culture, and the short story. How do we read it? And the short stories in Jordan and Palestine. Then the researcher dealt with the group’s stories one by one, analyzing the cultural values in each of the group’s stories, considering that cultural values are the memory of the nation, because they are formed as a result of cumulative political, economic and security conditions, not a single mutation but gradually, so they are stored in the memory slowly and carefully to direct the behavior of the individual and the behavior of the nation. If they are stimulated, they rise to the surface in different patterns to the creator (the sender), the reader of the pleasure (the recipient), and the critic. (the recipient) to analyze and participate in exploring how and what, i.e. what the text outside the text can say. The storyteller Ziad Abulbin has published two collections: Dead Delirium, and My Father and the Sheikh. -- Al-Dustour newspaper website includes bibliographic resources
