Notes The events of the novel revolve around a feudal family in the southern Iraqi countryside in Maysan Governorate, during the Iraqi monarchy, and it ends with its fall and the declaration of the republic and the political changes and social transformations that accompanied it, touching in its narrative representations the relationship of feudal families with the peasant class, and along the dramatic line of events and their story, anthropological narratives are formed to reveal the cultural identity of rural society such as the representation of customs, traditions, rituals, perceptions and beliefs. And dialects...etc. On the technical level, the novel works on the method of scenic (cinematic) fragmentation of events, and directing the movement of the characters according to the flow chart of the story without interfering in revealing the depths of the character and violating its psychological interiorities through monological repercussions and self-discourses, contenting itself with some interjecting sentences and indicative indicative pauses to separate the speeches of the characters that take turns forming the frame story without any characters taking the lead in the narrative scene and taking over the heroism of the novel, as each character has his own. Its role, the space of its narrative representation, its discourse, and its identity. The novel Taher Castle is characterized as being special, given that it centers and works on an environment whose geo-cultural terrain has not been completely revealed in a time that has its own politics, concerns, and transformations. --
