The book “The Historical Novel - Between Dialogue and Monology” deals with a systematic critical analysis, based on Bakhtin’s dialogue, of three novels: “The Nabataean” by the Egyptian novelist Youssef Zidane, “The Andalusian House” by the Algerian novelist Wassini Al-Araj, and “Ines, the Beloved of My Soul” by the Chilean novelist Isabel Allende. The author confirmed that these novels were collected because they are historical novels with similar features, relying on knowledge. Clearly, it is based on regions in history, without deriving its material from those regions by reproducing them, according to the vision of historians, but rather reshaping the historical event in a new way. Ibrahim said that this study comes as an attempt to employ a theoretical approach founded by Bakhtin, in analyzing historical novel texts, which requires subjecting the novel to the conditions of artistic styles that distinguish the genre of literary fiction from other linguistic styles, and then an attempt to interrogate what certain styles and forms indicate about undeclared concepts and ideas of the novelist. -- Al Bawaba website bibliography: pp. 161-166
