Sample Text Cholera, XIX. As the deadliest disease of the century, causing great human losses almost everywhere in the world, it has also been very effective in the Ottoman lands since the years when the first pandemic continued. This disease was seen in almost the entire Ottoman geography, especially in Istanbul, during the 1892-1895 epidemic. Cholera, which was effective in Anatolia in 1893 and 1894, also caused two epidemics in Istanbul in 1893-1894 and 1895. Although this cannot be said for those in Anatolia, as a result of the measures taken and implemented during the days when the epidemics in the Ottoman capital continued, this problem was overcome very lightly compared to the known characteristics of cholera; The number of incidents and deaths occurred at a very low rate. While the state had to take some measures while cholera continued in Istanbul, many of these measures had a significant impact on recognizing and eliminating infrastructure deficiencies, thus modernizing the city. On the other hand, the progress made in the field of preventive health measures was almost groundbreaking in the Ottoman Empire. Cholera, as the most fatal disease of the Nineteenth century, has brought about a large amount of human loss almost all over the world and also has been quite effective on the lands of the Ottoman from the continuous years part of the first continental epidemic. The disease has been seen on almost every part of the Ottoman Empire, especially in Istanbul, during the continental epidemic of 1892-1895. Cholera, which has been effective in Anatolia in 1893-1894, has also caused two epidemics in Istanbul in the years of 1893, 1894 and 1895. Although it could not have been said for the ones in Anatolia, this trouble has been overcame with little distress in corparison with the well-known characteristics of cholera and the rates of death and incidents have been low thanks to the taken and adapted precautions. During the time of cholera in Istanbul, the state had to take some kind of precautions that have made an important effect on the modernization of the city as detecting and removing the deficiencies in the underground services. On the other hand, the evolution in the field of protective health precautions has almost been a trend-setter in the Ottoman Empire.
