These papers are the famous letter, the letter of Al-Hasan Al-Basri, may God have mercy on him. In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and his prayers and peace be upon our Master Muhammad and his family and peace, to Abd al-Malik bin Marwan. It is narrated that Abd al-Malik bin Marwan wrote to Abu al-Hasan bin Abi al-Hasan al-Basri. Peace be upon you, for I thank God to you, besides whom there is no god. As for what follows?
