“And those who do not hope to meet Us,” meaning, they do not hope to meet Us with good, because they are disbelievers, and they do not fear our meeting with evil, and hope in the language is the chivalry of fear. He made his fate to the abode of his recompense, at his place of meeting him if he were lying. “If only the angels had not descended upon us, or had we seen our Lord,” he said, may God be pleased with him (Image: 02).
