Sample Text In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May God ease and help, O Most Generous. The scholars differed regarding the Basmala as to whether it is a verse from Al-Fatihah and other surahs or not. On the authority of the majority of the Salaf, Al-Shafi’i and his companions, Asim, Al-Kasa’i, and Ibn Kathir, they said that the Basmala is a verse.
