In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and may God’s blessings be upon Muhammad and all his family. As for what follows, the imam, the scholar, the Hafiz Ahmad bin Ali Al-Asqalani, known as Ibn Hajar, the soul of God during his time [sic], wrote in his travel to Mecca in the year seventeen one hundred and eight years, a wonderful summary of the hadith and its sciences.
