The first volume and the review volume of Seyyid Şerîf el-Cürcânî's work titled Hâşiyetü't-Tecrîd, which was taught as a textbook in Ottoman madrasas, were published. This annotation, which forms the main focus of the investigative work, is accompanied by the notes of Cürcânî and some other Ottoman scholars. In the research study, a) Nasîrüddîn-i Tûsî's (d. 672/1274) work on philosophical theology, Tecrîdü'l-akāid, b) 8th (14th) century Ash'ari theologian and Shafi'i jurist Mahmûd b. Tesdîdü'l-kavâid, the commentary written by Abdurrahman el-İsfahânî (d. 749/1349) on this work, c) The annotation written on this commentary by the versatile Hanafi-Ash'ari scholar Seyyid Şerîf el-Cürcânî (d. 816/1413), d) There are notes of himself and some Ottoman scholars regarding this annotation.
The work was researched by Eşref Altaş, Muhammet Ali Koca, Salih Günaydın, Muhammed Yetim. The first two volumes of the work (volume 1: review, volumes 2 and 3: Arabic text), prepared within the scope of the Second Classical Period Project of the Center for Islamic Research (ISAM) and planned as three volumes with a one-volume review section, have been published. Tecrîdü'l-akāid, a classical theological text that influenced the studies that came after it and created a tradition, has gained an important place especially in the history of Islamic education, together with the commentaries, annotations and taliks that make up this tradition.
While the most famous text of the early commentaries generation of Tajrîd literature is Tesdîdü'l-kavâid belonging to Isfahânî, the most important one among the annotations written on this comment is undoubtedly Cürcânî's annotation. The publication in your hand consists of the first volume of the Arabic text, which will amount to two volumes in total and has been put forward with meticulous research, as well as an independent review volume on the Tecrîd literature, written in Turkish and Arabic.
This study, which is privileged in that it presents the four-layered text relationship and investigative notes to the reader in an easily followable design, is aimed to be completed by presenting the second volume of the Arabic investigation section to the reader in the near future.
