Sample Text [This handwritten memoir (4th book) was written by Mehmed Asaf Saygun, and the author's memoirs about the War of Independence period, which he kept in three small notebooks called "Memorandum", were numbered as the 4th book after the Volga Shores memoirs. In this memoir, the author says; After the riots that broke out around Düzce and Hendek in the early 1920s, he was accused of participating in these riots; His trials were held at the Western Front War Court to which he was referred and at the Ankara Independence Court No. 1; He was sentenced to death at the end of his trial at Ankara Independence Court No. 1; As a result of his objection to this decision made against him, he was tried again and his sentence was commuted to exile; He spent his exile life in Eğridir and Can Island in Lake Eğridir to serve his sentence until the end of the mobilization. After the victory of the Battle of Sakarya, he took advantage of the amnesty issued by the Turkish Grand National Assembly regarding the amnesty of political criminals and recorded daily his release from exile.
